Where's the Money, Mr. Zlotnik?

Bruce Chester is a believer in effective economic development tools for re-building our cities and towns.

He first met colleague and co-host of the ‘On The Rocks Politica’ podcast Scott M. Graves in 2019 while Mr. Graves was executive director of the Wachusett Business Incubator. Thus began three years of Bruce’s interest and education in what works in operating and investing in business incubators.

‘My opponent in the race for the house seat, Mr. Zlotnik, was a supporter of the Wachusett Business Incubator in its early days. Since 2020 there has been nobody at the helm of the WBI, no physical location has been maintained. No programming has been regularly assisting local businesspeople, yet we see billboard signs have gone up in 2020 and 2022 respectively just in time for each election cycle’.

Some $255,000.00 or more was invested in taxpayer money into the Wachusett Business Incubator. Bruce Chester wants to know where that money went?

To be clear, my concern is that we could be investing in effective economic tools like a business incubator and we’re being hoodwinked by my opponent into believing there is one when he and his cronies have lied to our constituents. Under a Chester administration, support for an incubator and other economic tools like them would be both consistent and effective and include helping private entities get them operating to our district’s benefit’.

‘What happened to the businesses that were participating in programs? What happened to the seminars and classes? What happened to the business assistance programming devised as a Covid-19 response?’

‘But more than anything else, what happened to the money, Mr. Zlotnik?’
